Local Songwriter speaks to Congress about Internet Royalty Hikes
Joey Allcorn smoothly presents a case to the U.S. Congress against new Internet Radio Royalties which appear to hurt the promotional opportunities of small businesses (ie Independent Songwriters, artists and niche webcasters).

JAZZ: The Cavaliers (Sun., Mar. 9 @ The Liberty Theatre)

The Columbus Jazz Society is honored to have the Cavaliers Orchestra host our March 9th concert and jam session.
The Cavaliers Orchestra is a 17 piece big band formed by Jimmy Fuller in 1946. It has continued to perform the music of the swinging years under the leadership of John Beecher, Earl Baker, Orlando DiFabio, John Shur, Frank Robinson, Alan Ramsay, Mickey Luttrell, and, since 1996, George Corradino. The Band has a library of over 450 songs arranged by some of the most outstanding Big Band arrangers in the country. The Cavaliers have performed with many great band leaders and entertainers including Bob Hope, Warren Covington, Billy Butterfield, Wayne King, Doc Severinson, Joe Williams, Dean Hudson, Julius La Rosa and Marilyn May.

LaGrange / Columbus, GA - Jammates Records announces the February 19th release date for Rich Man's Dime, the label debut CD from Columbus, Georgia-based roots/blues/Americana singer and guitarist Marshall Ruffin. Musicians joining Ruffin on his freshman release include first-call Atlanta session bassist Joe Reda (upright, electric and fretless basses) and Sean O'Rourke (drums/percussion), recently off tour with Sugarland.
Ruffin will perform a special show for the CD's release Friday, March 14th at the Loft Live in uptown Columbus with a band backed by Paul Vaillancourt (drum/percussion) and Jason Lane (upright bass).
