Auburn Knights Orchestra (Jan. 13 @ Liberty Theatre)
The Columbus Jazz Society is honored to have the Auburn Knights Orchestra host our January 13th concert and jam session.

Composed in 1930, the Auburn Knights Orchestra of Auburn, Alabama is quite possibly the longest performing college-age big band organization in the world. In its inception, the band organized to play for dances and other musical events throughout the school year. Summertime rolled around, and the show went on tour, keeping many clubs and beach resorts swinging throughout the Southeast. Band members were soon earning their college expenses playing alongside legends of the era such as Basie, Sinatra, Miller, Herman, Rich and numerous other giants.

For many decades since, the Auburn Knights continues to perform year-round as it has for 70+ years - a select group of talented student musicians with a passion for jazz and big band sounds.
