Dallas Smith returns to Columbus November 11th
Dallas Smith returns to Columbus to perform his original compositions as well as some of his favorite jazz standards.

Since 1975, Dallas has been a West Coast native, where his musical career has included gigs from symphony work, studio recordings, cruise ships, casino shows, traditional and Latin jazz groups, and touring with noted jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal.

Together with his wife, jazz harpist Susan Mazer, Dallas has performed widely and recorded numerous CD's. (

For the past three years, Dallas has been a member of the Swedish world music group, Mynta ( With Mynta, Dallas has done three Scandanavian tours and two tours to India.

Dallas currently resides in Reno, Nevada.

The concert begins at 6:00 pm and the jam session begins at 8:00. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and sit in -- anything could happen!

Commemorating All Saints, praising St. Cecilia, honoring our Veterans, celebrating Thanksgiving, and anticipating Advent, the program will include psalm settings by Schütz, Mendelssohn, and Sargon, motets of Josquin and Hassler, and the Georgia premiere of Elegy by Gerald Custer.
